The only location that was off-limits was Winfield House, the real-life residence of the American ambassador
Scenario
In the midst of an international crisis, Kate Wyler, a career diplomat, is offered a prestigious position for which she is ill-suited, with tectonic consequences for her marriage and political future. The producers convinced both the American and British governments to allow them to use real-life locations as filming locations for the series, including the still-new American embassy (at Nine Elms), which opened in 2018. The UK allowed filming at the Foreign Secretary’s office, an honor rarely bestowed on any film or film production, especially an American one.
I loved every second of this show
Although it is accurately described as occupying the largest residential plot (11 acres) in London outside of Buckingham Palace, the producers used a country house outside the city for filming purposes. It appeared in the 75th Primetime Emmy Awards (2024). I watched Night Agent non-stop, thinking it couldn’t get any better, I was wrong.
So cerebral and fascinating
Everything you could want from a series. The characters and acting were top notch. It was great to see the amazing Rufus Sewell again and what a role he played, not knowing what he would do next.
She played it perfectly
Keri Russell was just wonderful as the ambassador. I also loved David Gyasi. All in all a great show, maybe a little short but worth watching.
The best political series since The West Wing
Excellent!
